SEGUIN, TEXAS-  The Pirates traveled to play the Texas Lutheran Bulldogs for Game 1 of a 3 Game series on Wednesday, April 6. 

The Bulldogs came into this series with a 24-3 record and are currently ranked No. 4 in the Country. The Pirates(13-15) came into Game 1 prepared and ready to try and snap the Bulldog's 9-Game win streak. Both teams remained scoreless through two innings before a Bulldogs Home Run brought in two runs. An error in the top of the 3rd allowed Emily Nevarez and Kathryn Dull to even up the score. Texas Lutheran took the lead again in the bottom of the 3rd inning. Riley Glenn-Milhouse doubled in the 6th inning bringing in Samantha Saenz for the score. At the end of seven innings, both teams were even at 3-3. Ultimately, the Bulldogs scored the winning run in the 8th inning and won Game 1, 4-3. 

The second game of Wednesday's doubleheader was halted due to lightning in the area with Texas Lutheran leading 11-4 with two outs in the bottom of the fifth. The two teams will resume play of game two prior to the final game of the series on Saturday at 12 PM at Ed Kruse Stadium.
