LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - Sydney Scott, a freshman utility player from Sugar Land, Texas, has been named the SCAC Softball Offensive Player of the Week for games played through Sunday, April 2nd.
Scott went 10-for-16 from the plate last weekend with four doubles, one triple, six RBIs and six runs scored as the Pirates took four from the University of Dallas.
Scott had the game-winning double in Saturday's first game as Southwestern rallied back from a 10-6 deficit heading in to the bottom of the seventh inning.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Sophomore catcher/second baseman Cassidy McDaris of Austin College had a great weekend, batting .500 with a .571 on base percentage and a .667 slugging percentage. McDaris drove in four runs and had two doubles to lead the 'Roos. Junior third baseman Kyla Lockley of Texas Lutheran University led the Bulldogs to a 6-0 week and to a 4-0 mark in the SCAC by hitting .368 overall and .385 in conference play. She scored six runs and had two doubles, a home runs, five RBI, and two stolen bases. She also walked four times and produced an on-base percentage of .458.
