The National Fastpitch Coaches Association announced its 2015 Scholar-Athlete class and three Southwestern student-athletes earned the honor.
First-year outfielder Taylor Curtis, junior infielder Tori Vasquez and junior first baseman Caroline Young all earned the distinction.
Since the inception of the Southwestern softball program in 2009, 24 student-athletes have been named NFCA Scholar-Athletes. This is Young and Vasquez's second time earning the honor.
Athletes who achieve a 3.5 or better GPA on a 4.0 scale are recognized as NFCA Scholar Athletes.
