2012 SCAC Softball Championship Moves to Jackson, Tennessee

JACKSON, Tenn. – The West Tennessee Healthcare Sportsplex in Jackson, Tenn., will host the 2012 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) Softball Championship, April 27-29. Six teams will compete for the conference title and a berth in the NCAA national tournament. 

All games will be played in Complex D at the Sportsplex (click map below for larger view), located at 250 BancorpSouth Parkway (Directions), and tickets will be available at the gates. An all-sessions pass will be available for $12; daily passes will be available for $5 each.

"We are excited to work with the West Tennessee Healthcare Sportsplex to finalize an agreement to hold the 2012 SCAC championship in the city of Jackson," said SCAC Commissioner Dwayne Hanberry. "I'm confident that our student-athletes, coaches, and fans will be treated to a first-class experience."

"We're pleased that our reputation for combining great facilities with great service has spread to the collegiate community," said Sportsplex Director of Operations Ricky Yates. "Anything we can do to bring people and quality events to Jackson, we will continue to pursue. This will provide the Jackson area with tremendous exposure to the sport of collegiate softball."

The top three teams from the West and East will meet to compete for the league's Automatic Qualifier into the national field of 60 teams.

Live stats (here) will be available for every game, as will live video (here) courtesy of the Southwestern University sports information department. Interviews with coaches and players will be conducted after each game and linked in the game recaps.
