GEORGETOWN, TEXAS - The Southwestern women's lacrosse team has completed a fantastic feat after their win against North Central on Friday. For the second year in a row, the Pirates have gone undefeated on Varsity Field. The Pirates, who remain undefeated, won seven of their nine games at home, including the most recent 13-5 win over North Central on Senior Day.

The Pirates jumped out to a massive lead in the first half of the game against the Cardinals. Southwestern held a 4-0 lead at the end of the first quarter thanks to two goals by DeAnna Hames and one goal each from Emma Pertuit and Sierra Rupp. In the second quarter, six different Pirates got in on the scoring action, and senior defender Skye George got her first goal of the season by way of an 8-meter shot. The Pirates took an easy 10-0 lead by the end of the first half.

In a slower third quarter for the Pirates, the Cardinals cut the lead to 11-2. First-year defender Hope Culberson was the lone scorer for Southwestern, thanks to an assist by fellow first-year Emily Cook. Not only did Cook get her first point of her career, she also added her first career goals to her point total. Cook ripped two 8-meter shots in the fourth to give her two goals and one assist on the day.

All in all, eleven Pirates added goals to their stat line, and Raquel Kurth and Liana Collins helped their teammates with three assists each. Eight draw controls from Peruit and five saves from Brynne Hardway led the Pirates to their victory over North Central and a great way to cap off the senior's last game on Varsity Field.

Women's lacrosse will head to Nebraska to take on NAIA Midland University on Friday, March 24th at 4:00 PM.
