MULLINS RECORDS 3 BLOCKS TO MOVE INTO SCAC SEASON TOP 10 IN LOSS TO TRINITY

The Tigers scored the first points of the game on Saturday night in San Antonio and the Pirates never recovered as Southwestern fell to SCAC Conference foe Trinity 73-66.

Southwestern found themselves down by 15 at halftime but were able to pull within three on a layup by sophomore center Staley Mullins with 1:19 remaining in the game. Trinity was able to push the lead back to 11 just one minute later.

The Pirates were led by Mullins who recorded her fourth double-double on the season scoring 18 points and pulling down 11 boards. She also had 3 blocks on the night which moves her season total to 56 which places her in tenth place on the SCAC season leader board.

Mullins was followed by senior forward Natasha Azizi who scored 16 points. Sophomore guard Jennifer Tindle and freshman guard Taylin Eckols followed with 13 and 11 points respectively,

With the loss the Pirates fall to 5-16 overall and 1-10 in SCAC conference action. They will remain on the road as they head to Hendrix on Friday. The game is set to begin at approximately 8:00 pm following the men's game.
