Three More Women's Track & Field Records Fall

SAN ANTONIO — The Southwestern women's track & field team continues to break school records each week, setting three more this weekend at the University of Incarnate Word Invitational. 

Senior Erica Robuck set a new mark in the 200-meter dash with a time of 26.39, besting teammate Arden Neff's time of 26.47 set earlier this season. Lauren Mackrell posted a time of 26.96, followed by Olivia Bakke (28.24), Charlotte Kraushaar (28.33), and Dejahnae Thompson (28.97). 

Robuck also paced the Pirates in the 100-meter dash with a time of 12.79, finishing 17th. Mackrell followed in 18th with a time of 12.83, and Bakke crossed the finish line at 13.71. 

Neff continues to set new standards in her first season, breaking the school record in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:05.59, breaking Karin Arnhamn's time of 1:06.6 set in 2007. Neff was the highest-placing Division III athlete in the event, finishing third behind NCAA Division I athletes from Incarnate Word and the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley. Keamber McCracken finished 10th with a time of 1:11.27, and Jessie Chiella 16th at 1:14.95. 

Taylor Hubbard finished fifth in the javelin throw, setting a new school record with a distance of 33.97 meters, breaking Erin Toro's previous mark of 31.78 meters set in 2021. Hubbard also placed fifth in the pole vault with a height of 2.80 meters. 

Tiamara Hill-Johnson finished second in her flight and 14th overall in the shot put with a throw of 9.53 meters. Riley Barlage placed 18th with a distance of 8.01 meters. Barlage also placed eighth in the hammer throw with a distance of 32.52 meters. 

Hannah Jones placed second in her flight and 13th overall in the long jump with a score of 4.32 meters. Kraushaar finished ninth in the high jump with a height of 1.45 meters. 

Rachel Chiella crossed the finish line in the 1,500-meter run with a time of 5:19.60, and a time of 2:37.58 in the 800-meter run, finishing 25th in both events. 

McCracken paced Southwestern in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 16.03, finishing 13th. Kraushaar followed at 16.52, then Neff at 16.63, and J. Chiella at 17.71. Robuck, Neff, Mackrell, and McCracken finished eighth in the 4x100-meter relay with a time of 50.21.

The track & field teams will compete in the Texas State Charles Austin Classic on Friday, April 15, followed by the SCAC Championships from April 23-24.
