SAN ANTONIO Texas -- The Southwestern University Pirates women's track and field team earned high marks at UIW Invitational as three Pirates finished in the top 10.
In the field events, Taylor Hubbard earned two top-ten finishes. She won fourth place in the women's pole vault with a mark of 3.15 meters and placed fifth overall in the women's javelin throw reaching 29.49 meters.
Also, placing in the top ten, Erin Toro placed third in the women's javelin throw with a mark of 31.78 meters and placed tenth in the women's shot put marking at 11.28 meters. Tiamara Hill-Johnson placed eighth overall in the women's discus, marking at 38.87 meters.
In other highlights, Keamber McCracken placed 13th in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:09.43 and Laura Carrasco Torres placed 19th in the 5000-meter run with a time of 20:34.77. Dejahnae Thompson and Erin Kelley placed 13th and 14th in the 400-meter dash with times of 1:08.43 and 1:09.61.
In the women's 4x100 meter relay McCracken, Lauren Mackrell, Kelley and Thompson placed third with a time of 52.60.
Up next, women's track and field will get ready for the SCAC Championship that Texas Lutheran University will host on Saturday, April 24 and Sunday, April 25.
