SAN ANGELO, Texas — Records continue to fall this season for the Southwestern women's track and field team, setting a new school mark in the 4x100 relay to highlight the team's performance at the Angelo State University David Noble Relays.
Erica Robuck, Arden Neff, Lauren Mackrell, and Keamber McCracken clocked a 49.96, breaking the previous school record of 49.99 set by Sydney Hart, Robuck, Kelsey Melton, and McCracken in 2020 and finishing sixth.
Southwestern competed in a field comprised of mostly NCAA Division II teams, with Trinity, Texas Lutheran, and McMurry representing Division III alongside Southwestern.
Robuck placed 20th in the 400-meter dash, crossing the finish line at a personal-best 1:01.48 to finish third among Division III runners. Lilly Van Meter finished a few seconds back, placing 28th at 1:05.71.
In the 100-meter dash, Mackrell set a personal-best time of 12.92, finishing 16th. Olivia Bakke placed 27th at 13.65. Mackrell also set a personal-best in the 200 with a time of 27.91, finishing 16th. Van Meter followed just behind at 17th at 28.08. Bakke finished 32nd with a time of 29.13.
Neff set a personal-best in the 100 hurdles with a time of 15.92, finishing 16th. She was also the second Division III athlete to cross the finish line behind McMurry's Naj Campbell. McCracken followed with a personal-best 16.34 to place 18th, and Jessie Chiella finished at 18.03 to place 22nd. In the 400 hurdles, J. Chiella placed 15th with a time of 1:15.89.
Rachel Chiella scored two top-10 finishes, placing 10th in the 1,500-meter run at 5:34.69 and eighth in the 800-meter run at 2:40.33.
Southwestern will travel to San Antonio next weekend to participate in the University of Incarnate Word Invitational from April 8-9.
