Cold shooting keeps Southwestern at bay against Oneonta State

The Pirates dropped the opening game 63-55 at the Southwestern University/Austin College Classic on Friday to Oneonta State in Sherman, TX.

Cold shooting on the afternoon kept SU from seriously threatening Oneonta State on the afternoon. The Pirates shot just 30 percent from both the field and three-point range in the loss. Southwestern was led by senior Natasha Azizi's 12 points and 4 steals. Sophomores Jennifer Tindle and Staley Mullins also contributed strong performances for the Pirates. Tindle added 10 points and 4 rebounds to her team high 5 assists while Mullins scored 9 points to accompany her team high 5 rebounds.

The Pirates will next take on Gustavus Adolphus College on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. in their second game of the Classic.
