Riggs had a season-best time of 27.15 in the 200 at the SCAC Championships and posted the fifth fastest time of 59.69 in the 400 at the UIW Cardinal Invitational. Riggs was the third fastest runner in the 800 with a time of 2:17.60.

Alex graduated in 2013 from Coppell HS with honors.

Alex is the son of David and Kathy Riggs and has one brother, Jimmy. He is currently undecided in his major here at Southwestern.
