GEORGETOWN, TEXAS - The Southwestern Men's Track and Field team traveled to Seguin, TX for the D3 Challenge track meet hosted by Texas Lutheran University.

"The Pirates had an impressive showing at this year's D3 Challenge. It's been a very competitive meet recently; this year was no exception. We're proud of the effort and performance of our athletes. We're steadily building towards our season's goals across all event groups. However, there's still so much more potential left in the tank. I'm looking forward to the final push of the season, recapped head coach Kenneth Eboh.

Coaches Corner

  • Coach  Sponsel: "Wow, this weekend was a great one for this distance crew! So many PR's and improvements made by way of mentality, preparation, and execution. I am so proud of this group for their hard work, dedication, and attitude. They earned every bit of their achievements, even with some room to keep growing. The plan now is to stay hungry, keep training and recovering with purpose for this next busy stretch before we get fresh for the conference meet in a month."

  • Coach Tuttle: "I really wanted the hurdlers to try new things, and apply some technical fixes to their races and strategies. We've been working on specific skills for the past month, and we all know it's one thing to be able to do them in practice, and another thing to go out and employ those skills when you've only got one shot at it on meet day. Everyone gained something from this competition that we can further learn from and now adjust towards championship season appropriately."

NEXT UP
