Men's Track and Field Wraps Up David Noble Relays

SAN ANGELO, Texas — The Southwestern men's track and field team participated in the Angelo State University David Noble Relays, competing in a field mostly comprised of NCAA Division II teams. 

Southwestern sprinter Yadon Tradmel set career bests in the 100 and 200, clocking in with times of 11.10 and 22.72 to finish 23rd and 31st. Andrae Gibson finished 23rd in the 400 (51.44) and 34th in the 200 (22.74). Adrian Washington competed in the 400, placed 32nd at 53.05, and 200, finishing 45th at 23.32. 

Brian Armijo paced Southwestern in the distance runs with a pair of top-10 finishes in the preliminaries but could not make the finals. Armijo placed second in the 1,500-meter run in his group with a time of 4:13.30. Noah Dennis followed in fifth at 4:20.76, Xander Bailey seventh at 4:24.14, C.P. Chaulis 10th at 4:31.04, and Doug Ginsberg 14th at 4:42.74. 

Armijo ran a 2:02.46 in the 800-meter run, followed by Nathan Botros in 13th at 2:08.81 and Vincent Kim at 2:12.96. 

Southwestern entered two relay teams into the 4x400, finishing 14th and 15th. Armijo, Botros, Kim, and Gannon Hall clocked a time of 3:50.39, followed by Shaulis, Dennis, Bailey, and Ginsberg crossing the finish line at 3:53.49. 

In the javelin throw, Simon Rupe placed 14th with a distance of 33.74 meters, followed by Sam Dawson's 15th-place finish at 33.37 meters. Grey Wagner threw 31.49 meters in the discus, finishing 29th, and Sam Dawson and Wager finished 30th and 31st in the shot put, throwing 11.01 and 10.26 meters. 

Southwestern will travel to San Antonio next weekend to participate in the University of Incarnate Word Invitational from April 8-9.
