Three Pirates earn All-SCAC honors

GEORGETOWN, Texas – Following the second women's semifinal game the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) announced the 2017 All-SCAC team where three Pirates were honored.

Junior guard Madison Edwards and sophomore forward Tori Carraway earned second-team selections while first-year Cecily Woolfolk was an honorable-mention pick.

Carraway is the Pirates' leading scorer at 13.0 points per game, which also ranks her eighth in the conference. A dominate rebounder, Carraway ranks in the top five in the SCAC in offensive rebounds (3rd), defensive rebounds (5th), total rebounds (4th) and rebounds per game (4th). This is Carraway's second all-conference selection, earning honorable-mention laurels a year ago.

Edwards is 12th in the conference in scoring, averaging 12.2 points per game and 10th in rebounds with 140 on the year. She ranks in the top 20 in the league in nearly every category and is sixth in the conference in free throws.

Woolfolk came on strong in the second half of the season and was nearly unstoppable on the block. She ended the year eighth in the conference in field goal percentage (45.6) while averaging 9.4 points per game (18th).

Southwestern ended its season with a 10-16 overall record after falling in the opening round of the SCAC Championship to Schreiner.
