Senior forward Jordan Owens was selected as the SCAC Player of the Week after an outstanding individual performance this weekend. 

Owens was the leading scorer in both games this weekend including a 36-point effort against Howard Payne that set a new SU scoring record. Her 15 made field goals was also a record. 

Owens averaged 27 points over two games, shooting 51% from the floor (23-45) and 80 percent from the free throw line (8-10). She also grabbed 17 boards, averaging 8.5 per game, and was just three rebounds shy of two double-doubles. 

Owens added in four blocks and four assists. 

Southwestern dropped both contests by a total of four points, falling 75-73 to Louisiana College and 76-74 to Howard Payne. The Pirates sit at 1-4 on the year and return to the floor on Wednesday, facing St. Edward's University in Austin at 6pm.
