Leeder Named as SCAC Player-of-the-Week

SUWANEE, Ga. - After averaging 28 points per game and helping the Pirates to a 2-0 start to open the season, Southwestern sophomore Chelsea Leeder was selected as the SCAC Player-of-the-Week for games played Monday, November 14 through Sunday, November 20th.

While averaging 34.5 minutes per game Leeder shot 66.7% from the floor (20-30), 57.1% from three point range (8-14) and 72.7% from the free throw line (8-14). She was also team leader in assists (10) and blocks (2), tied for second in steals (3) and recorded six rebounds.

This is Leeder's first-ever Player-of-the-Week award, but was selected as the SCAC Newcomer-of-the-Year last season.

Southwestern opened with a dominating win at Texas Lutheran and used strong defense and free throw shooting to defeat Schreiner on Saturday. They come home for the first time this season on Tuesday night to face a very tough Mary Hardin Baylor squad. Game time is set for 5:30pm.
