Seagraves, Fareed, Leeder and Mullins Selected as All-Conference

SUWANEE, Ga. - Senior Shae Seagraves (pictured, left) and Junior Anna Fareed (pictured, far left) were both selected as Second Team All-SCAC members while first-year Chelsea Leeder (pictured, far right) and senior Staley Mullins (pictured, right) were Honorable Mention selections, Leeder receiving Freshman-of-the-Year honors by the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference on Saturday night.

Seagraves was second on the team in scoring, averaging 13.9 points per game for her senior season, shooting 40% from the floor. She played a solid, all-around game for the Pirates averaging 5.6 rebounds per game (4th best), 1.2 steals (4th best), 2.1 assists (3rd) and 1.2 blocks (2nd) per game.

Seagraves scored a season high 25 points against Schreiner on November 21st and was in double digits in 19 games this season. She posted her only double-double of the year in the final regular season game at Trinity, recording 21 points while pulling down a season high 11 rebounds.

Fareed ran the show from the point guard position for Southwestern this year and added in a consistent scoring presence at 13.8 points per game. She was second the team in three pointers made and was tops in percentage among regular shooters for the Pirates, seventh in the SCAC, at 38% from long range. Fareed averaged 3.4 assists per game to lead SU and had a season high six assists against Colorado College and Worcester State. She scored a season high 28 points at Birmingham Southern on January 28th.

Chelsea Leeder wasted no time making her mark on the college game in her first season. She led the Pirates and was seventh in the SCAC in scoring at 14 points per game and was second behind Seagraves in field goals made (119) but was tops in made three pointers with 56 which was also third most in the conference. Leeder averaged 6.5 rebounds per game (2nd for SU), 2.8 assists (2nd) and 2.5 steals (1st) for Southwestern.

Leeder recorded three double-doubles this year and scored a season high 24 points against Sewanee and grabbed a season high 13 rebounds against the University of Dallas.

Mullins has been the point person in the paint for the Pirates, averaging 10 points a game while shooting 42.9% from the floor. She leads the team in rebounds at 7 per game and blocks, averaging 2.2 per game and is second in the SCAC with 54 blocks on the season.

Mullins closed out her final home game with a banner night, recording her team high fourth double-double with a season high 15 rebounds while scoring 15 points against Colorado College. She scored a season high 20 points the night before against Austin College.

Southwestern ended the regular season with a 16-9 overall record, 7-7 in the SCAC and entered the SCAC Conference Tournament as the #3 seed in the West.
