Staten was the only Pirate to start all 20 contests this season. He scored three goals, one game winner, with two assists for eight points, tying him for fifth on the team. He took 26 shots, 10 on goal for a .385 shots on goal percentage and scored his one attempted penalty kick. Staten was named as SCAC Player-of-the-Week for the week of October 4-10.

Appeared in one game in goal in his first season with the Pirates...allowed two goals and recorded seven saves for a .778 save percentage...had one assist and took one shot on goal.
