Pirates Rack Up All-SCAC Men's Soccer Honors

The Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference released their All-SCAC selections and Southwestern University landed 6 players on the list.

Seniors Kevin Jordan and David Lozano both earned All-SCAC First Team selections. Jordan, a defender from Austin, Texas, started in 14 of the 15 games he played in this season. He was a large part in the four shut-outs this season as well as the 1-0 loss to #1 Trinity. Lozano is a forward for the Pirates and hails from Austin as well. He charted 6 goals on the season, with 2 being game winners.

The Pirates had three additional players named to the second team.  Senior midfielder Josh Spencer tied Lozano for the most goals in the season with 6, but also notched 3 assists to make him the team points leader.  Spencer played in all 18 of the Pirates contests this year, starting 16 of them.

Accompaning Spencer is senior forward Preston Hollis.  Hollis tallied 5 goals and two assists on the season, tying him for second on the team in points.  Hollis played in 17 games, starting 15 of the contests.

Joining Spencer and Hollis on the second team is senior goalkeeper Ryan Tasin.  Tasin was a constant in the net for the Pirates, playing nearly 1450 of the 1635 minutes this season.  In that time, Tasin recorded 77 saves while only allowing 23 goals on the year. 

Rounding out the All-SCAC team is senior defender Kevin O'Neil.  O'Neil, selected to the third team, played in all 18 games this year and was a constant in front of the goal.

The Pirates ended the season 8-3 in the conference, earning them second place for the third straight season.  The Pirates graduate 10 seniors from this years squad.
