2013-14
Belaineh posted the top times in the 50 freestyle, 100 freestyle and 200 freestyle for the Pirates in his first season. He earned All-SCAC honors with a 3rdplace finish in the 50 free at the SCAC Championships with a time of 21.27. He also earned a top 10 finish in the 100 free with a time of 46.96 finishing sixth at the SCAC Championships.
High School
Simmon is a 2013 graduate from Lamar HS. In 2010 during his freshman season he earned Rookie of the Year. He was named Most Valuable Swimmer all four years and was Team Captain 2011 through 2013. In 2013 he was also District Champion and a Regional Medalist.
Personal
Simmon is the son of Yonas and Kidist Belaineh, and he is brother to Mikelina and Mahelet Belaineh. He is pursuing a major in business and is a member of Greek Life and The Catalyst Southwestern University.
