Men's Swimming & Diving Defeats Austin College

SHERMAN, Texas — The Southwestern men's swimming and diving team was victorious in its head-to-head meet with the Austin College Kangaroos, scoring a 148-86 victory. 

Southwestern won the 200-yard medley relay with the team of Tyler Scott, Sam Anderson, Drew Anderson, and Sebastian Ortiz finishing with a time of 1:42.22, and placed first in nine individual events. 

Sam Anderson led Southwestern with two individual victories and his participation in the 200-yard medley. Sam Anderson won the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 57.38, and the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:12.60. 

Keshaun Patel placed first in the 1,650 freestyle, clocking in at 18:01.06, and the 400-yard individual medley at 4:42.75. 

Nathan Saeger scored a win in the 200-yard freestyle (1:54.86), Drew Anderson won the 100-yard breaststroke (1:04.34), Zachary Kangieser was victorious in the 200-yard butterfly (2:01.66), Ethan Knight placed first in the 200-yard backstroke (2:12.65), and Ortiz took home the 500-yard freestyle (5:02.08). 

Southwestern will compete at the Tiger Invitational in San Antonio, Texas, on Friday, Nov. 19 through Sunday, Nov. 21.
