John Bishop ’19 joined the Pirates football coaching staff after graduating from Southwestern in the spring of 2019. Coach Bishop has received the role as Recruiting Coordinator for the Pirates in 2023. As the wide receivers coach in 2022, Bishop oversaw three All-Conference selections including newcomer of the year, JoJo Wilson, Ethan Powell and Tight-End Joey Robinson.
Bishop was a member of the football team all four years, including three as a letter winner. At Southwestern, Bishop was a member of the Character Council leadership group and graduated with his bachelors degree in Kinesiology
