• Swimmers Earn CSCAA Scholar All-America Honors; Women Second in Nation

    GEORGETOWN, Texas - The College Swimming Coaches Association of America announced their 2012 Scholar All-America Team honors and the Southwestern men's and women's swimming teams were both named in the report with the women's team capturing the second highest women's team GPA in the nation out of all divisions, third out of both men's and women's.

    The Pirates placed in 6th place with 133 points, just 5 points behind 5th place finisher, and host, Austin College. Patrick Flannigan was the brightest part of the meet for the Pirates as he was just a tenth off two of his season best times in the 100 freestyle where he swam a :48.91 for 6th place and the 100 butterfly where he swam a :55.11, also good enough for 6th.

    Jon Duncan has been named as the Head Men’s and Women’s Swimming and Diving Coach for Southwestern University. The announcement was made Friday by Southwestern University Director of Intercollegiate Athletics Dr. Glada Munt. Duncan comes to SU after serving as the head swimming coach at Rhodes College.
