SUWANEE, Ga. - The Southern
Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) named 1,037 student-athletes
to the 2012 SCAC Spring Academic Honor Roll on Wednesday. This
year's total is the third-highest for a single period in the
history of the award.
To qualify, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade-point
average of 3.25 for the term and be a regular member of a
varsity athletic team in a sport sponsored by the conference.
For the 2012 Spring semester, 104 Southwestern University Pirate
student-athletes earned their place on the SCAC All-Academic honor
roll.
Women's swimming and golf teams led the way, placing all but one student-athlete per team on the list. The baseball team led the way for the men, posting just over 60 percent of their athletes on the honor roll.
