Pirates Defeat Roos 99-81

The Pirates traveled to Sherman on Saturday and defeated the Roos 99-81 and took first in all but 3 events.  The 200 medley relay team of Ivan Cruickshank, Sam Visser, Patrick Flannigan, and Garrett Holody starting things off on the right foot with a first place finish and a time of 1:46.43.  Stephen Montes took first in the 1000 free with a time of 11:22.96. 

In the 50 free, Patrick Flannigan swam a 22.42 for first while Ivan Cruickshank took third with a 23.70. 

The Pirates took the top two spots in teh 200 IM.  Danial Withers swam a 2:13.08, taking first, and Sam Visser was close  behind with a2:16.18 for second. 

Patrick Flannigan swam a 55.32 in the 100 fly for yet another first place finish.  Stephen Montes took another long distance first place in the 500 free with a time of 5:33.26.  First year Sam Visser kept his hot swimming going with a first place finish in the 100 breast stroke thanks to a time of 1:06.46.  The 800 relay team of Stephen Montes, Garrett Holody, Adrian Gomez, and Daniel Withers finished the meet the same way it started, with a Pirate relay first place finish after a time of 7:51.80. 

The Pirates will return to action after the Winter break on January 14 at the Austin College Invitational in Sherman, TX.
