Viles and Frey Headline Men's Soccer All-SCAC Selections

Goalkeeper Jack Viles and forward Skyler Frey headlined a list of four Southwestern players to earn Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) men's soccer all-conference honors.

Viles led the SCAC in shutouts (10) and finished fourth in save percentage (.778), goals against (12), and third in goals-against average (0.71) to be the First Team All-SCAC goalkeeper. In addition, he set a Southwestern men's soccer record for most shutouts in a season and won one SCAC Defensive Player of the Week award. This is Viles' second all-conference award after earning Second Team honors last season.

Frey led Southwestern with 14 points, leading the Pirates with five goals and contributing three assists to tie Jackson DeHaven for second-most on the team. The sophomore forward was clutch for the Pirates in scoring a game-winning goal on a penalty kick with less than 15 minutes remaining in a 3-2 win over Occidental. He also had the game-winner over Centenary in a 2-0 win.

Defender Reagan Fortner earned his second All-SCAC Second Team selection, anchoring a defensive line that produced the stingiest defense in the conference with the most shutouts (11), fewest goals allowed (12), and lowest goals-against average (0.66).

Senior Scott Wilson earned All-SCAC Honorable Mention. Wilson stepped up late in the season, scoring two goals over the last three regular-season games, including the game-winner against Texas Lutheran in the season finale to clinch a spot in the SCAC Tournament for the Pirates while winning SCAC Defensive Player of the Week.

Defender Luke Malone and midfielder Keegan Hardy earned All-SCAC Freshman Team honors. Southwestern finished the season with a 10-3-4 record, including 5-1-2 in conference play.
