Offensive outburst leads to Pirate loss

GEORGETOWN, Texas – Texas Lutheran used three goals in the final 32 minutes to defeat Southwestern 5-2 in their final home match of the season.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Texas Lutheran's David Ching was sizzling at the start of the game, scoring two goals in less than eight minutes to put the Bulldogs on top 2-0 through the first half.
  • Michael Olivares took the reins for Southwestern and tied the match with two goals within four minutes of each other to open the second half.
  • Ching scored again five minutes later to put TLU back on top and kicked off the final run as Alejandro Martinez and Isaac Lopez scored to arrive at the 5-0 final.

UP NEXT

Southwestern falls to 6-13 on the year and 6-8 in the SCAC after the loss. They sit in fifth place in the conference heading into the SCAC Championship hosted by Colorado College. Final seedings and game times are yet to be determined as the rest of the conference wraps up conference action this weekend.
