GEORGETOWN, Texas – One goal in each half was enough to hand SU a 2-0 loss on a cold, windy Sunday afternoon.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- A penalty kick in the 21st minute put Trinity in the lead in the first half.
- Ryan Benner was a huge reason the Pirates remained in the match late as he kept the Tigers off the scoreboard until TU scored with under three minutes to play.
- Southwestern had great looks, especially in the second half including a header by Curran Daniel that would have been the equalizer but was saved off the line by a Trinity defender.
STATISTICAL BREAKDOWN
- Shots (on goal): SU 6 (2), TU 26 (11)
- Corner kicks: SU 4, TU 5
- Saves: SU 9, TU 2
