Baseball 0-3 in Series Against Centenary

GEORGETOWN, TEXAS - Southwestern Baseball (15-12) needed two wins on Saturday against Centenary College (12-10) to come away with a series victory against the Gents after falling in the first game on Friday. The Pirates were unable to keep the Gents out of the run column however and fell to Centenary 9-12 in game two and 5-11 in game three. The Pirates are now fourth in the conference standings behind Texas Lutheran, Centenary and Trinity. 

HIGHLIGHTS

  • Owen Stevenson led both teams in hits with four in game two, driving in two runs. He totaled six hits and four RBIs in games two and three with one homerun.
  • James Vaquero went for five hits and four RBIs between both games on Saturday. 
  • Ben Feuer and Tres Organ combined for five hits, Feuer with two in the second game and Organ with three in the third game.

NOTES

  • Southwestern had a combined twenty one hits for both games compared to twenty three from the Gents.
  • The Pirates committed nine errors on the day, five in game two and four in game three. 
  • Pirate pitchers struck out five batters in the two games played, with the Gents striking out twelve.
