Maxwell Mims, a senior outfielder from Friendswood, Texas, has been named the SCAC Baseball Hitter of the Week for games played from Tuesday, February 13 through Sunday, February 18. Mims led the Pirates to an opening week non-conference series sweep of Sul Ross St., marking the second straight season Southwestern has opened the year 3-0. He hit a steady .417 (5-for-12), smashing three home runs, driving in six runs and scoring four. Mims finished the week with two walks to post a .500 batting average and slugged an impressive 1.167. Mims was part of a Pirate squad that put up twenty-nine runs including ten home runs against the Lobos.
