LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - Southwestern University junior Ethan Hallmark was named Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Hitter of the Week, the league office announced on Monday afternoon.

Hallmark, an outfielder from Midlothian, led the Pirates to a 4-0 record last week, including a three-game sweep of Austin College.

The 5-foot-9, 165-pounder hit .667 (10 for 15) with a double, a triple, three home runs and nine RBIs. He racked up 22 total bases during the week, which translated to a 1.467 slugging percentage. He also reached base at a .667 clip, scored eight times and swiped two bases.

Hallmark hit all three of his home runs in Southwestern's series with Austin College. He hammered a solo shot in the third inning of the series opener and connected for a two-run shot two innings later. In the nightcap of Friday's doubleheader, he belted another two-run shot in the second inning.

The Pirates (16-13, 5-4 SCAC) will return to play this weekend at Dallas. The three-game set is scheduled to open with a doubleheader at 12 p.m. Saturday and conclude with a 1 p.m. contest on Sunday in Irving.
