GEORGETOWN, Texas - One day after collecting conference pitcher of the week laurels, Southwestern University senior Jeremy Rice was named to the D3baseball.com Team of the Week.

Rice hurled a nine-inning no-hitter in Southwestern's 21-0 win over Blackburn on Friday night. The right-hander faced only one batter over the minimum and threw 113 pitches, including 80 strikes.

The Houston native improved to 2-3 on the year. He boasts a 2.45 ERA in 36.2 innings. Rice also has struck out 19 batters, while walking nine.

Rice and the rest of the Pirates (11-11, 1-2 SCAC) will travel to Kerrville this weekend for a three-game league series with Schreiner.
