The Southwestern University Pirates Athletic Department welcomes Kyle Hierholzer as an Assistant Track and Field Coach.

Hierholzer is a jumps coach at ALTIS where he has a leadership position within the coaching education program. A native of Boerne, Texas, Hierholzer joined the staff of Kansas State University in the summer of 2006 following a stint as an assistant track and field/cross country coach at Texas at South Plains and Texas State.

While at South Plains, Hierholzer coached three NJCAA National Champions, nine NJCAA All-Americans, a 2006 U.S. Junior champion in the men’s long jump and a 2006 World Junior finalist in the long jump.

Prior to his time at South Plains College, Hierholzer was a graduate assistant at Texas State University from 2003-2005. During his time as a student-athlete for the Bobcats from 1998-2003, he earned bachelor’s degrees in finance and marketing. On the track, Hierholzer competed in the decathlon and hurdles and helped the Bobcats to four straight Southland Conference titles.
