Men's Track Earns Six Top-Five Finishes at SCAC Championships

SEGUIN, Texas -- The Southwestern University men's track and field team earned six top-five finishes at the 2021 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) Championships in Seguin, Texas. 

Noah Dennis won a third-place in the men's 10,000-meter run with a time of 34:26.55, and he also claimed fifth place in the men's 5,000-meter run, clocking in at 16:01.17. Devin Rosas finished third in the high jump with a height of 1.92 meters. Rosas also placed in the top 10 in the triple jump with a seventh-place finish, covering 12.52 meters. 

Ashton Frey earned two fifth-place finishes. He recorded one in the men's 100-meter dash with a time of 11.17 and another in the men's pole vault, clearing 4.09 meters. Frey also won ninth-place in the 200-meter dash. Lastly, Adrian Washington came in fifth place in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:00.62. 

Other top-10 finishers include Frey and Jude Ballew, tying for sixth place in the men's long jump, reaching 6.15 meters. Keith Rupe earned two ninth-place finishes in the men's 110-meter and 400-meter hurdles, and Robert Robuck earned ninth place in the men's 400-meter dash. 

Southwestern's men's 4x400 relay team earned fourth place overall, with Ballew, Robuck, Rupe and Washington finishing in 3:31.88. Men's track finished fourth overall, scoring a total of 25 points.
