GEORGETOWN, TEXAS - Men's Track and Field traveled to Nacogdoches, TX for a two-day meet hosted by Stephen F. Austin University, the Carl Kight Invitational and Multi. One final meet before the SCAC Championships, the Pirates used this meet to really see where their fitness is at and took their performances to another level. The Pirates broke multiple school records, including some nationally-ranked marks.

Coach Tuttle had this to say about the weekend, "As the year gets into championship season, we've been making it a habit to start seeing these huge performances. Southwestern athletes now are in the top of the SCAC, not to mention the NCAA as a whole, in several events going into our final and most important meet of the season: the SCAC conference meet. It seems like we always get a big confidence boost at just the right time as they're getting to see the product of their year-long hard work. I'm feeling very assured as we focus on our last two weeks of training."

"Another week, another round of PRs for almost everyone. In the last couple weeks of training, we've shifted workouts to be much more race scenario specific to address areas of improvement. Pretty much across the board, the distance group nailed their race plan and were rewarded with PR, breakthroughs, and a better grasp on how they can push themselves that 1% further. With another couple weeks of similar training, and more rest before the conference meet, I am very excitedly awaiting the next opportunity for them to show what they can do," recapped Coach Joe Sponsel.
