2013-14

In his first season with the Pirates, Townsend swam unattached at the SCAC Championships. He posted three top times in the 50 free, 100 backstroke and 100 free. His time of 48.23 in the 100 free was the fourth best time for the Pirates in the event. He also earned a spot on the SCAC Academic Honor Roll for his hard-work in the classroom.

High School

Townsend earned four letters in swimming at Kingwood Park High School and was a member of the 2010 and 2011 State 4A Championship Teams. The 2012 was the State Runner-up. He was a Gold Medalist in 2013 at the 4A State Meet in the 200 medley relay and was a part of the All-American 400 free relay in 2011 and 200 free relay in 2012. 

Personal

Nathan is the son of Craig & Denise Townsend and has three siblings, Jordan, Moriah and Anna. He is a majoring in kinesiology with a minor in sports science and is a member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.
