Flanigan, Ayers Selected to CoSIDA Academic All-District At-Large First TeamMay 23, 2011The 2010-11 Capital One Academic All-District® Men's and Women's At-Large (Sports) Teams, selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America, have been released to recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performance athletically and in the classroom. Sophomore swimmer Patrick Flanigan (pictured, left) and junior swimmer Sarah Ayers (pictured, right) were selected. Flanigan is one of three SCAC male athletes to be recognized in the report while Ayers is one of four.

Ayers Explodes On Day Two of SCAC Swim & Dive ChampionshipsFebruary 18, 2011SHENANDOAH, Texas - Junior Sarah Ayers had a fantastic day two at the SCAC Swim & Dive Championships, winning the 100 back, taking second in the 100 fly and helping the 200 medley relay to a fifth place finish. She hit an NCAA Automatic qualifying standard in the 100 back and will be traveling to Knoxville, Tenn. in March for the Championships.

Pirates Continue to Improve With Eyes on ConferenceJanuary 19, 2011The Pirate Men's swimming team was defeated Saturday aginst Trinity University despite setting two bests for the year on Senior Day. The first record for the year was set in the 200 Medley relay by Patrick Flannigan, John Prater, Seth Williams, and Josh Stanfield with a time of 1:43.56. This beat the previous record by nearly a second.

Pirates Push Roos to Limit in Narrow DefeatDecember 08, 2010The Southwestern men's swimming team were narrowly defeated 132-128 by the Austin College men's swim team Saturday during Carls Jr. Day at the Southwestern University Natatorium. The Pirates took first place in eleven of the fourteen events that both teams competed in.

19 Season Bests Show Pirates Improvements at Southwest ShootoutNovember 22, 2010The Pirates competed on Friday and Saturday at the Southwest Shootout. The Pirates swam against DI, DII, and DIII teams. The men finished in 9th place. The news of the meet was the astonishing 80% of season bests that were improved upon. All four relay teams swam their fastest times of the season at the Southwest Shootout.

Pirates Swim well but Drop McMurry MeetOctober 26, 2010Despite having fewer entries, the Southwestern Men's swimming team swam well and placed in the top three in almost every event. Teh end result, a McMurry victory 120 to 62, did not tell the whole story as the Pirates swim team competed well in almost every event that was swam on the day.
