2008-2009 (Senior Year)
Appeared in all 28 games this year for the Pirates and started 10
times...averaged 11.1 minutes and 2.4 points per game...went 23-50
from the field (46%) and 21-28 from the free throw line
(75%)...pulled donw 53 rebounds and recorded 12 assists, one block
and four steals on the season.
2007-2008 (Junior Year)
Sanders appeared in 22 games overall and saw action in 13 SCAC
contests...logged 148 minutes on the floor (6.7 minutes per
game)...averaged 2.0 points per game scoring a total of 43
points...shot 13-23 from the field for a FG percentage of .565...in
SCAC play shot a .636 FG percentage (7-11)...went 2-6 from the 3-pt
line (.333%)...shot .789 from the free throw line, going 15-19 on
the year and in SCAC play shot 6-8 from the charity
stripe...grabbed 23 rebounds (1.0 per game), had 5 assists and 8
steals in his junior season for the Bucs.
2006-2007 (Sophomore Year)
Sanders played in 24 games and started 5 in his sophomore
year...also playing in a total of 13 SCAC games (starting 3)...he
logged 205 minutes on the court hitting 17 of 34 from the floor and
shooting 6-22 from three as well as going 9-22 from the line giving
him a total of 49 points on the year (averaging 2.0 per
game)...grabbed 32 rebounds on the year and dished out 9
assists...also blocked 3 shots and had 7 steals...in the SCAC he
averaged 1.9 points per game...had all three of his total blocks
and 6 of 7 steals and 7 of 9 assists in SCAC play.
2005-2006 (First-Year)
Sanders played in 17 games and saw action in 8 SCAC games in his
rookie year logging 60 minutes for the Pirates...scored a total of
11 points on the year while grabbing 10 rebounds...dished 3 assists
and blocked one shot and had one steal on the year.
High School
Sanders attended Westwood HS where he played Football, Basketball
and Cross Country. He was an Academic All-District pick 2 years in
a row, an All-District Honorable Mention selection and selected to
the "Hill Country News Dazzling Dozen" team, as well as being the
recipient WHS Academic Award for the Warriors.
Personal
Ben is the son of Ted and Jane Sanders...born on December 31,
1986...has two brothers - Matt and Drew...majoring in Kinesiology
with a History and Spanish minor at SU.
