GEORGETOWN, TEXAS- Southwestern University Men's Basketball lost to the Howard Payne University Yellow Jackets in a double overtime thriller in Brownwood, TX on Wednesday, November 22nd. 

Southwestern bounced back from being down at halftime and started the second half with a 15-3 run to regain the lead early in the second half. For the rest of regulation, the game was evenly matched, and the Pirate's Sebastian Loder found himself on the free throw line for two shots, down by two, with just one second left on the clock. 

He sank both of them, sending the game in the First OT. The game continued to be back and forth with neither team getting a large lead. The Pirates looked as if this one was going to slip away, but Jacob Hester drove in for a layup with two seconds left and tied it up one more time. 

It took two overtimes to do it, but ultimately the Pirates fell short to the YellowJackets. 

Southwestern was led by two double-double performances from Brock Luechtefeld (21 points, 14 rebounds) and Luke Hatcher (24 points, 12 rebounds). Leading the Pirates in scoring was Jacob Hester who finished with 26 points and eight rebounds.
