    Thanks to the generous donations of parents, alumni and students in the Pirate Crew, Southwestern University's Booster Club, the Athletic Department was able to continue the tradition of awarding watches to senior athletes whom had completed eligibility while at SU.

    NEW ORLEANS, La. - The men's and women's cross country teams were named as 2010 All-Academic teams by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) on Thursday. This is the second consecutive season the women's team has been honored while the men join the list for the first time since the program began in 2006.

    NEW ORLEANS, La. - On Tuesday the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced their Men's Scholar Athlete of the Year and All-Academic Team for the 2010 cross country season. Junior Zach Freeland was one of 16 SCAC student-athletes named as a member of the Division III All-Academic team.

    MEMPHIS, Tenn. - Southwestern University's men's cross country team finished in 15th place out of 22 teams at the annual South/Southeast Regional Championships on Saturday. Junior Zach Freeland (pictured) was SU's top finisher, coming 32nd place in a time of 26:36 to earn his first ever All-Region selection.

    MEMPHIS, Tenn. - In a regional championship preview race at Rhodes College on Saturday the Pirate men's cross country team ran their best yet despite the rolling, hilly course. Six runners ran personal best times at the meet, a stat the bodes well for later in the season when Rhodes hosts the actual Regional race.

    WACO, Texas - The Southwestern men's cross country team ran an impressive race on an ideal night for their season opener, coming in ninth place out of ten teams with 224 points. Host institution, Baylor, won the competition with 29 points. The field included just two Division III team, all the rest were D-I and D-II.
