
SAN ANTONIO — Southwestern men's cross country competed in the University of Incarnate Word Invitational, finishing 10th with a total time of 2:29:15 and 301 points.
Three Pirates clocked in under 30 minutes, paced by freshman Xander Bailey, who completed the 8K course with a time of 28:02.2 to finish 59th. Juniors Nathan Botros and Doug Ginsberg followed, finishing 83rd and 88th with times of 29:14.6 and 29:34.8.
Southwestern's trio of freshmen finished 96th, 97th, and 102nd. Luke Markey completed the course at 31:07.3, Andrew Cutting ran it at 31:18.5, and Gannon Hall finished at 33:42.8.
Incarnate Word was the top team with a total time of 2:06:29. Texas A&M Corpus Christi's Kelvin Kimaiyo won the event with a time of 24:31.5
Southwestern will return to action on Saturday, Oct. 16, competing in the Inter-Regional Rumble hosted by Oberlin College in Oberlin, Ohio.
