Men's Track Competes in David Noble Relays

SAN ANGELO, TEXAS- Both of the Men's and Women's Track & Field Teams participated in the 51st Annual David Noble Relays hosted by Angelo State University.

The Men's Team walked away with 11 Personal Records from this Meet. Fitness and Strength seemed to be trending in the right direction as they are just two weeks away from the SCAC Conference Championships. The David Noble Relays Meet is a meet with a lot history and a lot of competition. The Men's team tied for 10th Place. FULL RESULTS CAN BE FOUND HERE.

"Historically, we've seen incredible performances at the David Noble Relays, and this year's events saw much of the same. Our Women's 4X1 school record fell, and we had three pirates make the finals in the men's long jump, one of which, Jamal Maxey, tied our school record in the long jump. In addition, we had multiple throwers throwing seasons and personal bests, with freshman Scott Johnson leading the pack with a 6th-place finish, 45.05M javelin throw in his 1st outdoor meet of the season," said Coach Eboh.

PERSONAL RECORDS:

"A large group of our long distance guys practiced enduring the toll that racing both the 10k and 5k at the conference meet can take. They ran a long tempo/progression run on Thursday morning then raced the 5k and 1500 on Friday. All of them running PRs or extremely close to their season best. That result was a great confidence builder for them two weeks out from the conference meet knowing they have the strength to push themselves hard on back-to-back days," said Asst. Coach Joe Sponsel.

Next up for the Pirates is the War Hawk Classic on April 14-15th at McMurry University.

Southwestern University will be hosting the SCAC Championships on April 22nd-23rd.
