LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - Following another record-setting performance, Southwestern University junior Tyler Adams was picked as the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Field Athlete of the Week.

Adams topped his program record in the hammer throw to capture the title at the UIW Cardinal Invitational on Friday. The Olden native launched the implement 162-2 (49.43m), which was nearly 10 feet past the mark he set over a week ago.

Adams also finished fourth in the discus throw and fifth in the shot put to pace the Pirates at the meet.

Southwestern will resume action on Thursday at the McMurry Open in Abilene.
