Addison Herbert

Herbert joined the Southwestern coaching staff on an interim basis for the 2021-22 season, helping guide the Pirates to a SCAC Tournament appearance. He was hired as a full-time assistant in the summer of 2022. 

Herbert is a Georgetown native, having attended Georgetown High School as a member of the regional finals team as a junior and the 30-win co-district championship team as a senior. As a senior, he was named All-District First Team, Team Offensive MVP, and All-CenTex by Austin sportswriters. 

He attended college at Ole Miss to be a team manager and pursue a career in college coaching. Herbert earned a spot on the basketball team as a walk-on for the 2014-2015 team that made an NCAA Tournament appearance. He spent the next three seasons as a team manager with Ole Miss producing two 20-win seasons and NBA player Terence Davis. Herbert received his Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Management in 2018. 

Herbert served as a graduate assistant at Angelo State University from 2018 to 2020, assisting in two 20-win seasons, an NCAA Tournament appearance, and developing players playing professionally overseas. He received his Master’s degree in Coaching, Sports and Recreation, and Fitness Administration.
