GEORGETOWN, TEXAS - Southwestern University men's basketball was teetering on the edge of making the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference tournament for most of the 2023 season, with the Pirates' only conference wins being over Austin College and Dallas in the months of December and January. 

The Pirates kicked off the month of February determined to make the tournament. Southwestern went on a three-game win streak versus Texas Lutheran, Colorado College, and a big overtime win versus Schreiner to close out the 2023 regular season, playing their way to earning the sixth seed in the tournament.

The seeds for this year's men's tournament are as follows:

1) St. Thomas (16-0 SCAC; 23-2 overall)

2) Trinity (12-4 SCAC; 19-6 overall)

3) Centenary (10-6 SCAC; 17-8 overall)

4) Colorado College (9-7 SCAC; 12-13 overall)

5) Schreiner (6-10 SCAC; 12-13 overall)

6) Southwestern (6-10 SCAC; 10-15 overall)

Men's quarterfinal action gets underway at 5 p.m. CT Friday afternoon.

Friday - Quarterfinals at Trinity University

Game 1 - 5 p.m. CT - #4 Colorado College vs. #5 Schreiner

Game 2 - 7 p.m. CT - #3 Centenary vs. #6 Southwestern

Saturday - Semifinals at Trinity University

Game 3 - 5 p.m. CT - #1 St. Thomas vs. Winner of Men's G1

Game 4 - 7 p.m. CT - #2 Trinity vs. Winner of Men's G2

Sunday - Finals at Trinity University
