BELTON, Texas – Southwestern scored 10 of the final 14 points of the game, but Mary Hardin-Baylor received a pair of free throws from Daniel Mills with six seconds remaining to pick up a 79-78  win on Saturday night.

The Pirates (1-1) trailed 75-68 with 3:55 to play in the contest. Chris Molina hit a trio of free throws over the next minute to cut the Cru's lead to four points. After Daniel Mills knocked down two shots from the charity stripe with 2:03 to go, Connor Kim hit a 3-pointer to allow Southwestern to pull within three points. On the Pirates' next possession, Zach Whitlock hit a jumper to cut the lead to 77-76.
