Four earn All-SCAC Men’s Basketball honors

In exclusive voting by the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference head coaches, four Southwestern Pirates were All-SCAC selections for the 2014-15 season.

Zach Whitlock led the way with a Second Team selection. The 6-5 sophomore forward from San Angelo, Texas led the Pirates in scoring through the regular season at 10.4 points per game. He is second on the SCAC in field goal percentage, 53.6%, and ranks ninth in rebounds per game at 5.6.

Senior forward Blake Scott earned a Third Team selection in his final season with the Pirates. Scott is second in the conference in blocks with 40 on the season and averages 7.6 points per game and 4.6 rebounds.

Honorable Mention picks Chris Lee and Ryan Ogden round out Southwestern's representation in the report. Lee, a junior guard from San Antonio, averages 10.1 points per game and 2.3 rebounds while shooting 43.9 from the field and 37% from three point range. He is seventh in the SCAC in steals with 25 on the year and fourth in free throw percentage at 80.6 percent. Ogden, a freshman forward from Bellaire, Texas, has had an abbreviated season due to injury but has left his mark in his first season. He shot 48.8 percent from the floor, 8th in the SCAC, and 45.5% from three point range, 2nd in the conference. He is fifth in rebounds per game at 6.2 and 11th in total rebounds with 123.

Southwestern ended their season at 15-10 with an 87-80 loss to Centenary College in the SCAC Conference Championship semifinals.
