GEORGETOWN, Texas - Southwestern went just 7-15 from the free throw line as they dropped their first home SCAC contest 57-50 to Colorado College on Friday night.

Colorado College jumped out on top at the start of the game, but after three lead changes the Pirates took control on a layup by Adrian Johnson, 8-7, with 10:27 to play in the first half and never looked back, leading the rest of the frame to take a six point lead, 27-21, into halftime.

Back to back three pointers by CC's Ryan Milne to open the second half tied the contest 27-27. Southwestern fought back and built their lead back to four, but the Tigers hung around and waited for their moment to pounce and got the opportunity they were looking for as the Pirates went on a four minute scoring drought. Colorado College moved ahead by five, 50-45, with 3:22 to play.

Southwestern battled back and evened the count after Chase Kocher's acrobatic layup where he was fouled and hit the resulting free throw, tying the game 50-50 with 1:24 remaining.

The Pirates got good looks down the stretch but weren't able knock down the shot as they went scoreless in the final 1:24 to fall 57-50.

Both teams struggled from the floor, Southwestern shooting 35.2% from the field and Colorado 36.5%. The Tigers earned five more points from the charity stripe then Southwestern and narrowly outrebounded SU 39-36.

Travis Kurtz led Southwestern with 15 points and nine rebounds while CC's Chris Lesnansky led all scorers with 19 points.

Southwestern falls to 5-8 on the year and 1-2 in the SCAC while Colorado College improves to 5-6 and 3-0. The Pirates remain at home to host the University of Dallas on Saturday night at 8 p.m.
