Following the break Trinity once again started strong, pushing their lead to six, 38-32, early, but Southwestern came storming back to lead by three, 39-42 with 14:21 to play after a three pointer and layup by Logan Hurley.

After the fifth tie of the contest at 48 a piece with just under eight minutes to play it was all SU and the Pirates led by five, 58-53 with 5:52 to go.

Trinity tied the contest at 59 with 4:34 remaining and effectively turned the tides in their favor, mounting an eight point lead 70-62 with 48 ticks on the clock. The Tigers made just enough free throws to hold off the Pirates as Nick Caputo's three pointer with seconds remaining brought SU within five for the 73-68 final.

Hanley had an outstanding final game of his Southwestern career, leading SU with 23 points and 10 rebounds. Hurley contributed 19 points while Caputo added in 10. TU's Luke Calderera led all scorers with 26 points.
