Women's Cross Country Competes In NCAA Regional Championship

MOUNT BERRY, Ga. – The Southwestern University Pirates women's cross country team competed in the NCAA South/Southeast Regional Championships on Saturday morning, finishing 27th in a field of 32 with a total time of 2:21:01.72 for an average time of 28:12.35 in a 6K run.

Valerie Acosta paced the Pirates with a time of 26:44.74, finishing 135th. Trinh Ha finished shortly after, crossing the finish line with a time of 26:57.00 to finish 145th.

Morgan Forteith (27:55.34 finished 166th, followed by Emma McCandless (28:30.47) in 174th, and Lauren Evans (30:54.17) in 210th.

Centre's Annie Rodenfels finished first in a field of 237 runners with a time of 21:44.80. The Southern Athletic Conference (SCAC) was also represented by Trinity University with Molly McCullough finishing second with a time of 22:31.08.

Emory won the event with a total time of 1:57:00.41 for an average time of 23:24.09. Trinity placed fourth with a time of 1:58:37.76 for an average of 23:43.56.
